The new song Ten Floors Down is excellent - over 7 minutes long as well!

The whole situation drives me mad to be honest.
Ok, gonna talk from the heart here. When RR got together it was two AC/DC/ kiss fans who were desperate enough to hook up with two Pistols/Clash fans. The ensuing melt down was what some of us know and love. A bit ahead of its time and a bit behind its time all in the same minute.
RR always felt we had kinda stumbled onto a formula at this point. A great punko/glam /metal riffarola that had it all. Lets face facts, if joe perry had tripped on the steps and gone to hospital, Jon Stewart would have got the gig. In 13 years I havent seen any interest in The Pleasure victims or Cat balou , or anyone except the brillaint Gunfires.
Who ever said it recently, you are right. Gunfire did come at it from a different angle and that is what made them the great band they were. They had the balls to take the chance and, more importantly, they could write a tune.
Then the Wildhearts happened. The fuuny thing was that our crew where doing the Wildhearts early shows and coming back saying all these amazing things. We just thought they were winding us up. LOTTI roadie , Billy the Willy was RR crew boss and he said oooh this is dynamite, they sound like DC covering the clash. Then we heard Turing American and the reality set in.
No one, even us, was going to compete. We came away from those gigs knowing that it was nothing to Ginger and everything to us. If the tables had been turned it would have been the same.
There in lies true belief in yourself. Both me and Ginger were 40 in the last few months and I respect him and love him dearly. He is not the easiest person to consider a freind and chaos and eventuality seem to follow him around like dog shit on your shoe. However, his sencerity is as mind blowing as his song writing and, through thick and thin, rain or snow, he remains the bench mark for English rock and roll.
